based in bristol, space hardware is a project headed up by hypercolour boss jamie russell that is rooted in an appreciation of p­-funk and the outermost hemispheres of soul and disco. so far the imprint has released material from glenn astro, blacksmif, deft and placeholder and, continuing to shapeshift with each new 12-, the next in the series comes courtesy of apollo and delsin affiliate bakradze. also operating under his gacha and winter flags aliases, bakradze is an artist who uses his own live instrumentation, an mpc and classic korg synths to build rich and woozy melodies that he anchors down with technical rhythm structures. his message from home delves deep into this framework and is packed with a serious degree of flair. astute sound design, balmy guitar tones and loose, natural drum patterns pepper an eglo-esque sound in another fine addition to the space hardware catalogue.

steve murphys curiously long shadow casts itself ever further over the realms of gritty house and techno with a barn-storming follow up on the lobster theremin core series, this time ratcheting up the tempo and rhythm to epic levels. shed-esque kicks thunder over asteroid-crumbling basslines, crackling wooden percussion is slammed into the muggy dirt and leaves, seriously filthy, rolling numbers for the all night crew.

title track joyride kicks things off with a straight up 909 beat, complete with scifi sweeps and classic wood block percussion, quickly working its way into an very subtle groove with every element working effectively to keep it fully funk laden. sideways completes the a side of the release and gets going right from the beginning. pumping percussion takes hold and hits the ground running before a perfectly weighted synth hook lashes over the top with henning playing with the synths lfo to creative effect. dust takes things down a notch as swirling pads drape themselves over a serious 909 beat. henning lets this one loop out, letting the subtle variations in the synths do the work as the 909 holds the beat solid and reminiscent of early berlin/detroit dub techno crossovers. mars attacks closes of the ep and does so in particularly fine fashion. a more broken beat affair this time from henning and he really works his machines into a sonic warfare of bass tones and tweaked out synths that sear through the crashing percussion workout.

club cuts is the new release by gummihz. it features two dancefloor heavy tracks spanning from acid to dub house/ techno. on side a, aacid patch, is a serious dancefloor weapon with a characteristic killer tb 303 bassline and airy jazz piano licks, produced back in 2010. 8am groove, on the flip, is a dub cut that, in typical gummihz finese, rolls effortlesly between detroit house and techno. an excellent record cut for the dancefloor!

richard rogers black booby re-edits return with bb07, which sees chi-town original and ron hardy protégé gene hunt - a black booby veteran from bb04 - digging out more vintage dat dopeness on the double-a-side, which features raw-as-hell analogue house workout *1015* (a take on the dion & tony track from his chicago dance tracks collection on rush hour back in 2011) alongside the very aptly-named (and appropriately drum-fuelled) *dr roland*. meanwhile on the b-side you will hear uk house music og terry farley sharing production duties with another 90s house veteran, stuart stretch silvester. *play house* (original mix) is a synth-heavy jacking houser with serious dancefloor intent, plus check out the kklassik mix by another chi-town don, k alexi shelby, who chases the original headlong down a dark alley littered with emotive samples and thumping keys.

after 2 blinding releases on lies and russian torrents, the italian uprising techno producer domenico crisci lands on fellow italian marco shuttles label eerie with some serious, 909 driven, stripped down techno biz. no matter how pretentious it might sound these are tracks that gravitate quite comfortably in a mills-esque kind of orbit but they somehow also remind of early downwards brutal material. label boss marco shuttle features in the ep with a remix of one of the tracks (lash) bringing the original into a more broken, abstract and dark (of course) territory.

taking a few steps off it’s usual housy path, metereze presents a fresh new face and a more techno approach to dance music. it is melodie that signs the 4th installment and he is taking it deep into the realms of acid with 3 tracks that not only go well together but they are all meant to make you move in a big way.
acid sunday is as acidic as the name suggests it but in the end it’s the most poetic of the 3. the subtle pads are kinda dreamy but the 303 sounds make it super driving. on the same side we have rhythmico which is dark, percussive and powerful. subtle background bleeps complete the wandering synth that comes and goes but never really seems to go away.
housed on side b justa is a techno monster in its own right. sonically very close to the other two, this is by far the darkest track on this ep. and probably the strongest. techno infused house you may call it or whatever, this is the kind of track that puts you on a serious move whenever, wherever.

currently causing quite a stir on the underground, the jerome hill remix of marshall jeffersons s trax classic lost in the groove is a complete re-interpretation, solid jacking (hard) house music using the original vocal that s cut loud onto the vinyl and worms inside your head and has been doing serious damage in the clubs and festivals last year. now with all licensing and red tape cleared away, it s set for release. dancer boom boom is actually a collaboration between acid legend adonis and sidney winters, with a mix down by house legend frankie knuckles. this sat on the b side of am a dog on trax records and is rare & obscure to say the least, but once the needle touches the groove you know it s a killer. massive kick drums and mysterious organ scales, this one is a mad mad tune ! produced in 1987 (and sounding like nothing else from that year) it s been given a very slight and very respectful re-arrangement by jerome hill, remastered and cut super loud. strictly limited and if the previous titles on the label are anything to go by, this one will sell out equally quick.

hitting the ground running in 2015, huntleys + palmers returns with a new drumtalk release. following on from the success of his massive time release in 2014, drumtalk is back with a 4 track ep of serious belters. from slow-burners, to straight up peak time anthems, our favourite changes every time we hear them and were sure youll find your own one to treasure. not much needs to be said really. enjoy.

after releasing his sophomore long player we walked home together through fiakun, el_txef_a returns with a series of remix packs, the first bringing us to the darkest side of the album. not only is this the first remix ep part of a triptych, its also the start of a new label, forbidden colours. the forbidden colours label will provide a space for the basque producer to explore and share his musical vision. the ep starts off with eduardo de la calles take on claim of planet earth, pulling us through an impressive analogue journey. while the black madonna displays her particular vision of italo with some serious bassline action. permanent vacations lake people turn every day is blue monday into a mystical acid trip. the tel aviv based duo deepa & biri reinterpretate claim of planet earth into a deep yet gentle track. finally andres aguirre gives the love we lost brings the reworks home with a true dancefloor club mix. the vinyl release will be limited to 200 copies

after a small hiatus basic soul unit is back on track, delivering some serious jacking club action! four deep & intense cuts, but all still with that tremendous party vibe... all equally powerfull.

both the dub version and the listen up vox mix of give you some rest on the a-side. opening with percussion, the impending rhythmic baseline quickly grabs our attention. darius throws us some vocal sampling in the vox mix, creating an outstanding raw and iconic house vibe. flipping it over, we find drop your gimmicks on the b-side. this one is a bit more serious and bit less bouncy. with a deeper bass line that tells you what time it is, and the percussion to keep your feet shuffling, the track is, as darius put s it true house music .

here comes the second blind spot music vinyl with some of our favourite techno artists on the board. the original track scattered produced by the japanese ryuji takeuchi and it is a proper peak time smasher. ryuji after a few remixes is finally landing with an original track on blind spot music. in the past techno fans have heared his unique style on various releases on label likes of nachtstrom schallplatten, sick weird rough, huehelix or his own imprint local sound network.
on the remix duties are: mallorcas techno ambassador angel costa, who has released on some of the most prestigious labels of the techno scene such as clr, electric deluxe, micro.fon. the german michael schwarz, whose unique driving-techno materials came out on driving forces, wall music, praxxiz and at last but not least blind spots very own dr hoffmann & gabeen. the duo is infecting the techno scene slowly with their lethal sounds.
the scattered ep is not for the faint-hearted, serious underground techno beats on it.

introducing the album comes track coma with thousands supa grove percussions and intergalactic keys driving you to a heart of a universe on supersonic speeds. next comes the viking and continues the ep with a serious intellectual sound containing analog vibes mixed with echo keys and drums. a track called akranes brings your mind to a called train passing through snowy siberia with million thoughts and a hot tea in a hand with eyes caught up by snowy fields behind the window. mud gives a shot and brings u down after all the illusions u have during listening an ep, this track will make you shaking in 2-3 seconds so hold on! a true analog sound in a quality pack is that what you prefer to get inside the monsters ep s. monster power!

next up on ellum witnesses the salubrious dino lenny delivers a double-header of epic proportions on his its saturday single. the a side its saturday’ is a heavy as hell piece of colossal techno loaded with a kick like a mule and enigmatic vocals to boot. on the flip and we are indulged with another hefty affair i am changing, with another vocal led jacking heavy hitter with vocals courtesy of dino again. serious stuff for discerning dance floors, speakers beware! dino has been making music for since the late 90’s having remixed everyone from madonna to underworld, and have been championed by everyone from peter tong, the chemical brothers and maceo plex. this fantastic ellum debut is tantamount to his electronic wizardry.
